Regarding your question, I honestly don't know. Ben was the one to 
comment it out more than a year ago in commit ace15a07. From what I can 
see it had to do with the use of ValueArray. If you can uncomment that 
line and make sure there are no double-deletes, then feel free to do so. 
The best way, as always, is to port tests :)
