Well Mike, I have a dual-boot machine (NT & Slackware with ext2, Fat16 &
NTFS). When I tried to install RH8.0 "workstation", it complained about
partitions, and prompted to be corrected (boot loader will take care of
finding the boot sectors and such). I said 'Yes' (taking a chance). Then a
dialog box popped up with some error msgs. It's tool late in the night, so I
just ignored the dlg box.

To avoid re-partitioning, I tried "Desktop" and other options as well. I
don't get it, when Slackware found everything nice and clean (and installed
of course), how come partitions became alien for RH8.0 :(

Anyway, I partitioned my 20GB with Partition Magic 5.0. And, now after
downloaded the RH8.0, my excitement of having RedHat didn't last a little. I
will try in next couple of weeks, and will post my results.

Good luck with your upgrade :)

Subject: (clug-talk) wget RH8.0

For those of you that haven't been able to get RH8.0 the following is
downloading now at 425 K/s:

wget -vct0
ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/linux/redhat/8.0/en/iso/i386.*

The line will be wrapped.

At 25 min per iso I should have it installed this afternoon. Any one
have any thoughts on doing an upgrade rather than a clean install.
Laziness and having been really dumb and not placing /home on it's own
drive........
