Welcome to the group Johnny and sorry for your rough beginnings with us.  Pay no mind to some of the people on this list.  If anyone gives you grief just tell them to piss off.  If they can't help you and are only going to complain then they aren't worth listening to.  Don't let their arrogance and rudeness sour you on the hoards of nice friendly helpful folk in the group.
 
And to those of you in the group that have been rude to Johnny, you should be ashamed of yourself and should be smacked in the head with a manners stick.  You need to accept the fact that not everyone might be the Linux gawd you are and that maybe some of us out there have problems even when we know what we are doing.  Instead of hassling someone about sending test messages (which I am sure we have all done at one time or another) why not try and help them.
 
My ranting is at an end!

Ever since subscribing to the CLUG listserv I have been having strange problems with not being able to send email through my "usual" configuration to [EMAIL PROTECTED], in spite of being able to send mail to members on the same domain [EMAIL PROTECTED]. I regret the few "test" postings that I have had to send, and Richard has been very helpful and understanding with regards to my posting problems. Richard has also been kind enough to make a few suggestions which is the sort of courteous and helpful "community" spirit I was hoping to find.
 
However, what is regretable is that I have also received a few direct emails telling me to "Stop this immediately". No offer to help, no mature, polite, courteous or respectful inquiry as to why I have sent more than one test message. I have recently moved to Calgary and have made a career change to pursue a couple of Linux and Open Source business opportunities here and had hoped to find like-minded, community-spirited, Open Source/Linux people with a similiar interest in trying to make a career in this exploding industry.   
 
However, I will stop sending test messages so as not to annoy any CLUG members further. This particular message was NOT sent through my prefered "system", nor am I completely ignorant of the hows/whys of computer systems, mail or Linux. But I am having an unusual problem in this case.
 
So in one last and final attempt, if there is anyone in the CLUG that is willing to assist in diagnosing my possible SMTP, iptables, relaying or other issues which may be preventing me from posting, I would be extremely greatful and appreciative. Someone with access to the maillog on mail.calgary.linux.ca may be able to provide the best help.
 
Thank you and I sincerely appologise to those members that I have annoyed with my test posts and attempts to resolve my posting problems.
 
On a side note, I have a few systems, cases and mother boards and maybe more computer parts that I am willing to donate to anyone that is willing to pick them up. I have moved from a large house to a 2 bedroom apt and have giving away stuff steadily and now it's office/computer lab time. I have been in this "industry" a long time and have parts and systems going back to 8086's, 80286's etc for anyone interested. Anyone want a copy of Windows 2.1, Windows386, the first OS/2 or Iggdrasill Linux with the "Network Desktop"!!!
 
Mainly what is left are some cases, desktop and mid-full towers, 386, 486, early pentium mother boards etc.
