Title: RE: (clug-talk) Clug Project Idea

Hi all,

Rob and I plan to contribute to the IPCOP 2.0 development. They are a 100% non commercial GNU fork of the Smoothwall distribution. They wish to eliminate all the remaining Smoothwall code for 2.0. Anyone interested in ground up distro development contact myself or Rob Lewko. We are in the early planning stages and would welcome involvement from clugger's with any time to spare.

Thanx, Dan

Subject: (clug-talk) Clug Project Idea

I've been thinking about an interesting project for awhile, (I even
mentioned it at the wireless presentation I did awhile back).

I think it would be pretty cool to establish a wireless honeypot.  Some
requirement.
A Wireless Accesspoint, preferably one with some guts.
Some kind of logging system
A downtown location in a tower

Some questions.  What is the interest in doing this?
Also does CLUG itself have any cash to do something like this?  Corporate
donars?  I know I'm a student and completely broke so this won't happen
without financial backing from somewhere.

Wireless honeypotting is not particularly common yet, so this could be a
valuable prestige project for the group.

Anyways people with the requisite technical skills speak up and let me know.
