Well for this project my instructor requires me to write a network management system (under Linux, with Perl 5.8.0). We are allowed to use any modules we like. Just wondering if you had any suggestions on the best modules to use for stuff like snmpwalk, get, set, and all that fun stuff.

Also, for one question we are supposed to correlate link up and link downs.

For another question we are supposed to use de-duplication for link ups and downs.

Just wondering if you have any suggestions on the best way to approach those two questions.

As far as MRTG goes we are supposed to graph data received from various SNMP traps... Was wondering if you knew of any other documentation for MRTG over and above what is on their website?

Thanks,

Brian H.

:-)

I know SNMP and MRTG, but no Cricket; ask away.
