I have a Dell laptop that is about 2 years old. The keyboard doesn't work
properly, the batter charger and sound card is also shot. These are attached to
the motherboard so it would cost ~$1500.00 to fix it. In other words I cannot
recomend them for quality. As for support everything works except the internal
modem under Linux (it's a winmodem). You can always plug in a pcmcia modem
though. Also the graphics card was incompatible with Corel Linux 1.0, but worked
under RedHat 7.0+ and the sound card did not work with the 2.2 kernel.

Should be fine unless you want to play ut2003 :-).

I don't think so, you should be able to get RAM at FutureShop.

I've only had limited experience with external burners, and no luck getting it
to work. However my internal burner works great.
