to help carify it a bit further ;-) :

SuSe's licensing prohibits resale of YAST and YAST-based tools. here's a link 
to the license for the curious:

this does classify it as non-Free software, however, you can make copies of it 
all you like. this does mean that you can buy/download one copy of SuSe and 
install it as many times as you want. there is no restriction on putting it 
up on your own FTP server, either.

SuSe also owns the copyrights on the ISO images they produce and they enforce 
those copywrites, much like what Theo deRaadt does with the ISOs of OpenBSD.

in other words, SuSe's installer/config tool is freely redistributable, but 
you can't charge for it. the rest of the OS is free, save for any add-ons you 
may get on extra CDs when you buy the box set.
