Hello CLUG'ers. I'm looking for some information on clustering. I am not entirely sure where to start.
I assume there's different ways to cluster? or Maybe different protocols or methods. as crazy as this sounds, I'd like to have the cients boot off of a bootable Linux CD. The one host node? I guess, or controller, will have a hard drive, its some old equipment left at school. A SPARCserver 1000. This thing doesn't have to simulate nuclear explosions, just want to see if this sort of project is possible. Why are the clients booting off of CD? Can't touch the HD's at school, was hoping to take over the lab on a weekend, and turn about 60 half decent machines, say pII 400's /w 192MB of ram into a cluster. I like the idea, of a cluster on a spindle. Any information, experiences, anything really. This is my weekend discovery. Thanks, Rich.
