I don't do a lot of work with Outlook Express, but do with Outlook. In
Outlook, you can create a personal folder (which is just a .pst file) and
put your emails into that. Then you can just backup the .pst file. Don't
know if that's possible with Express though.

Subject: (clug-talk) How do you guys backup your outlook express email.

Hi Guys,
I know people who have tons of email and would like to keep it handy at the
same time unloading all that junk from their machines. Is there a way that
someone has used effectively. I've considered recommending,

1. find folders where all the .dbx files are and burn them onto cd
2. create another identity
3. dump the files from the cd onto the new identity
4. test it
5. go back to the original identity and delete what's been backed up
6. delete the identity created on step 2.
7. whenever needing to access the old files, repeat step 2, and 3.

does this seem like a reasonable method.
Is there anyone who would recommend something better?

Thank you.
Rafael.
