Also for safety and security I could refuse all disks that people offer me. That way I would not be sharing files with anyone else in windows ever. Then my windows operating system would be safe.
I eventually want to replace all my windows applications with linux applications. But if that is not possible, at least by not doing any file sharing in windows I should be safe from viruses. And even in linux, I would put the firewall between me and the net. The only files I would share would be from a legitimate mandrake site. After I become familiar with Mandrake I might also try a few other distributions. But for a little while at least, I want to concentrate on mandrake.
