Evolution also does PGP/MIME, not cleartext (in fact, Evolution 1.0.8 had a bug in it that it can't even verify some cleartext signed emails, so every email I got from Aaron would say it was invalid when it wasn't - as of 2 AM today I'm moved to KMail at home. :-) ). The email I sent last night that had the Enigmail link in it was signed from Evolution 1.0.8, so here at work I can't even check my own signature.

So, my guess is the Enigmail has a problem with cleartext signed email.

Could be ... Jeff's email has content-type: multipart/signed and the signature portion content-type: application/pgp-signature (is that PGP/MIME?), while yours just has the signature included in the text. Strange thing is Enigmail does recognize the signature in the text. It just seems broken.

Will test with other sample sigs.

After a couple of more tests, I've found out that 1) Enigmail supports pgp-inline and pgp-mime, and 2) it seems pgp-inline support needs some work (I've even tried it on an Enigmail signed email (Jeff Smith's) and was using pgp/inline and it still bombed).

Thanks for the tips. Time to check b.m.o.
