One of the server's I have inherited in the past week has suddenly decided
to stop serving it's web pages and/or has encountered a problem with a
network card.

The server in question is running a kernal version of 2.0.34. I think it's
a FreeBSD distro. One thing we've noticed is the drive is at 97% capacity.
(was 99% - trimmed /var/log/messages to the past few days only - it had at
least a years worth of logs).

My guess thus far is that we either have run out of drive space, or our NICs
aren't comming up right when the system boots.

So, first, I'm looking for an appropriate command to find the largest files
on the drive (I'll be checking google after I send this message, but our
primary site is down - kinda urgent to get this fixed). Any tips?

Next, how do I know if the NICS started properly or not? On my RH8 box, I
can watch the indicators, and see the OK when they are brought online. With
this box, things fly by pretty fast, but it looks like the NICs are getting
initialized, but then I get a message saying it couldn't find a network
interface. This box was working fine yesterday, and no changes have been
made to it (to my knowledge). Any tips on this part?

Thanks VERY much for any replies.

Shawn
