Hi all,
I was the other winner of the Clugoppix cd last night and I have to agree
with Mark and Jeff. A job well done! I like Clugoppix for its
promotional value as well as the reasons I like Knoppix. One more thing
that Dan mentioned that Clugoppix CAN do that Knoppix cannot (please feel
free to correct me or add details Dan) is that it can be used to start
networking with other computers. This is a coup since its possible from a
bootable Linux CD.
The reasons I like Knoppix include its ability to be used as a
troubleshooting hardware/software tool as well as the voice of the
"startup sequence initiating" and "shutdown sequence initiating." Although
I love that voice and think it's irreplaceable, I can't help but
think that another voice would better remind me of Calgary. I'm still
thinking about that though. A cowboy or cowgirl voice may match the
Western theme of the CLUGOPPIX title. Now the question is: What would they
say that would be appropriate and professional?
(ex: Welcome home partner! - for startup
Time to vamoose! - for shutdown)
See you at the installfest this Saturday (noon to 4 pm). I'll bring the
CLUGOPPIX to share.
Great job Dan,
Peter
