Hehe - First thing I usually do with my Slack install is fire up X.  I futz
around for about 15 min., not actually accomplishing anything, or blessed
little if I do.  It doesn't really matter which desktop environment or
window manager.  It's after that that I start throwing up Konsole or aterm
sessions left and right, and suddenly, I start being a productive Linux user
again... ;-)  lol

I have tried RedHat (not really happy), Mandrake (never worked) and Slack.
Slackware has always run and installed perfectly.  Probably part of the
reason that people I've introduced to Linux have been leery... cracking a
console and using 'vi' are pretty estential to running Slack...
