Is anyone willing to put together a quick shell or perl script for me, preferably shell? It should be pretty simple, and I could probably figure it myself given enough time, but I am in a bit of a rush with something and I think its pretty simple for the "real" coders on this list.
I have a file produced from a tripwire default policy file which shows the discrepencies compared to the actual system...missing files etc. Each line is of the form "twtest.txt" file contents... Filename: /sbin/accton Filename: /proc/scsi etc... And for each line in the twtest.txt file I want to comment out the corresponding line in twpol.txt "twpol.txt" file contents.... /sbin/accton -> $(SEC_CRIT) ; needs to be changed to... # /sbin/accton -> $(SEC_CRIT) ; etc And a few beer can be on me one night next week at the Rose & Crown on 17th if anyone is interested in helping me with this...
