I for one am very happy with KDE and everyone involved (Aaron). My faith in programmers is restored. As the article that Aaron forwarded stated, KDE is optimized even as it is extended. I truly appreciate this, especially on my laptop which is a P166 with only 96Mb RAM (maxed). I have noticed a speed increase in the way certain K apps load, not least of which are Konqueror and Kmail. Way to go guys! I like this trend of not bloating the window manager even with cool new toys added. Just like the Government, it appears there is code that can be pared down in order to make things run more speedy. People coming from Windows (like myself) are used to (but not necessarily happy about) the fact that with each upgrade of the OS, it seems to grow exponentially. I like the fact that while the size of KDE files may not necessarily be shrinking, the code is running better. It encourages me to continue to do this whevever possible in my own code. And yes, the improvements to apps and security, not to mention that funky desktop sharing are much appreciated. Take the plunge, it's worth it. I had no problems (aside from having to blow away Pixie-Plus) getting my KDE upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1 thanks to the wonderful RPM's for SuSE and the readme with the proper command to upgrade.
