I have a SCSI tape drive which is now down.

It wouldn't eject a tape for the company a few days ago, so they held in the eject button for 10 seconds, which 'reboots' the tape drive.  The tape cam out with no problems, but backups have failed ever since.

I suspect the device and the controller are no longer communicating.

Is there a way to reinitialize a SCSI controller other than rebooting the server.  The server uptime is well past 200 days, and I don't really want to reboot it.

It's scheduled for a reboot for tomorrow.  But I'd prefer to avoid it if possible.

Thanks.
Kev.
