Having used this with Novell, I'd recommend using a fault tolerant cluster.
Server failover works OK, but not nearly as well as it supposed to.  A
cluster has the advantage that in addition to providing complete fault
tolerance in the event of a total failure it will be helpful in the event of
even just a single overloaded server.  Plus, you will get at least some
performance improvement with a cluster that a mirrored server just won't
have.
