Is it too much too ask what happened? some people here can't read every
message that flows on here, and whensomething peaks our interests, we see a

Garth Meisel has been banned him from the mailing list. Jeff's firewall

also going to be banning all traffic from imagewireless.ca for the time
being. I would like to publicly express my utter contempt of this person

what he did to Trevor Lauder and to a lesser degree Kevin Anderson. I

feel

that these two individuals are contributing members of CLUG who try to

help

out as much as they can. What Garth did last night was inexcusable and

was why he was removed.

We are expecting some backlash from this and as such the CLUG site has

been

backed up. Please keep an eye on things and remove anything that appears

to

be defacement and/or let us know so that we can restore the site.

Hopefully we can all breathe a little easier now. I am not naïve enough

to

think that this problem will entirely disappear but we are treating

things

like this with due diligence. I think the next Executive should focus

some

efforts on the mailing list. I'm not sure what those efforts should be

but

we

should take an audit of the system and see if there are things that could

be

changed for the better. At the very least a clear and concise usage

agreement

should be sent out periodically to remind people that things like what

Garth

did are not acceptable.

I hope this does not put any of you off or make you go into "lurk mode"

for

fear of being attacked. I know that Trevor is considering removing

himself

>from the list and I wouldn't blame him in the least. I have already told
him

that I would consider it a loss on CLUG's part. He assures me that if he

did

remove himself from the list it would not mean that he would stop

attending

CLUG meetings and such.

I have lobbied for people to curb the tendency to attack or belittle and

now I

must congratulate you. Aside from Kevin whose reply was light-hearted
considering his attack and Cade, nobody else rose to the bait. This shows

lot of self-control.

Now maybe we can get back to business and take care of our own. Thank you

your patience.
