hellllppppp!

well, i've tried all of the posted suggestions and i don't believe there are any files 
at /mnt/nt!!! does this mean that they are really gone or is it possible that they 
just can't be read? the remaining filesystem was ntfs (if that makes a difference)

when starting windoze xp in safe mode with prompt, i "dir" at the c:/ and get an error 
message. that's probably bad too, yes?

anyways, if there are any other suggestions i'm open. i really appreciate your help so 
far and look forward to hearing more :-)
