First, Congratulations ( and sympathy ) to our new Executive!
Thank you to Brian for the presentation, I missed a lot messing around
trying to get a net connection but I will be checking out your web pages.

As Jarrod mentioned I have been talking to a guy that runs a used
computer warehouse in Calgary. He is moving to a larger warehouse this month
and in a couple of weeks he will be in a position to offer us approx 500 sq ft
with power, net connection, big hub and tables for installfest etc.
I think it is paticularly good as he will give us I think 10% off his allready
keen prices. e.g. PII400 128Mb 32x CDRom nic 4GB etc for $160-180
I am thinking some people would be interested in turning up buying
something suitable then having the Distro of choice put on it.
What do the members think? You dont have to buy something!
He has lots of older stuff which would be great for smoothwall/IPCop
firewalls etc along with boxes of cheap nics and things.
I should point out that he is not there all the time so if you send an email
he may not respond straight away.
Dan, if you want to contact him or me to get something going please do
so, I may not be able to attend for about a month or so.
His website is www.vfxweb.com.

My thought is that installs are now getting so easy that we might even just
slap SUSE or whatever on a few machines, then when people come
in they bring their printers / scanners whatever and we help them thru
the configuration. Maybe hold their hands as they run an update to KDE3.1,
show them how to change permision on a file or something,
The NEXT STEP so to speak. This is the step I had / am having
most trouble with.

Comments?
Graham
