Hey Brian, The Calgary Linux Users Group is still going to be known as The Calgary Linux Users Group. The Guild part only comes into play when we are dealing with official documents (read that as anything legal). The past Executive had no intention of putting 'Guild' out there. The reason why we didn't change Group to Guild to retain the acronym, is because the LUG part is canon. We did not feel that we could change it to the Calgary Linux Users Guild and still be a LUG. I would like to keep with that decision. I appreciate your efforts with regards to the CLUG logo but at this time they are not necessary. I was the designer that worked on the CLUG logo and I have kept it a vector file purely for the reason that vector artwork nets the cleanest look when printed. It's scalable and most print shops can deal with it this way. I based the design on Larry Ewing's vector Tux with a few additions to make it closer to the "3D-ish" looking one that you used. I planned on revisiting this design to add gradients but for the most part, the simpler the design the more flexible it is. As the Executive is looking at getting some shirts and stuff made up, this factor remains important.
