I have replaced my W2K server with SuSE 8.1 (damn I love the network install
- damn fast and slick), and have been successful in getting my web server
operational (manually starting it for now, but I'll script that when all the
pieces are in place).
So now I'm trying to get the email server running, with no luck. It might
be related to the fact that Cyrus refuses to install, so I think I'll try
Courier IMAP. But, I went through the Postfix configuration, did a "postfix
check", and it didn't return any errors, then started the server ("postfix
start"). Everything appears to be working fine, untill I try to connect to
the box. If I do a "telnet myserver 25" (connecting to the SMTP port on the
server), I get a "connection refused" message.
So, while I'm in the process of installing Courier IMAP, does anyone here
have any hints or tips? Email and web are the two very core services I need
running. Everything else I can configure later, or live without (like
Postgres, JSP support, etc.).
Also, one thing that I can't find - how do I open another virtual terminal
on Suse? It appears to not have any - do I need to configure them in the
rc.d scripts?
Thanks
Shawn
