Thanks again for your help guys. If I'm understanding you correctly the problem may be that I'm trying to access the server from a machine on my LAN. I am only doing this for testing purposes, and will not need to do it for anything else. I'm going to get someone from the outside world to try telneting into those ports. If that works I will have someone setup a mail client on the outside world and see if that works. I'll get back to you on this :-)
