Hi Diana, >I still have not been to any meetings, and I >confess, I am chickening out.
We are all somewhat distressed the first time we out as a Linux geek or user. We are very fortunate to have some very talented although sometimes opinionated folks who attend, but I can assure you that we only pick on Cameron Nikitiuk because we like him ;-) >I feel sometimes intimidated by the very high skill >set that peole on this list have. Sometimes I just plain feel intimidated to, but because their psycotic outbursts as apposed to their skills. ;-) Stressful things can sometimes push a person over the edge. Most folks who sucumb to this type of behaviour generally get over it, see the err of their ways and chill. Those who don't can be moderated or centured from the list. > To summarize, apart from the earlier flames, which I have not seen > for a > while, my impression of CLUG is decent, with good potential for > growing and > keeping members and newbies alike. We welcome folks of all levels of interest in Linux and I can assure you of your personal safety at our meetings. Marcel has not devoured a nube for at least a month and is showing great signs of recovery from the "incident". His therapists have assured us he is "unlikely" to regress to his former state.;-) The meetings have something for everyone and they are free to attend. Just be sure to not make any sudden moves near Marcel and things will be just fine.... All the best, Dan
