Jarrod, I have a switch I can lend. I can lend either a 8 port or a 16 port.
Let me know witch one would be better and I'll bring it to the meeting. The event will be held between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. It will take some time to set up and take down so the event formally runs from 11:00 to 4:00. Things will run slightly differently this time around. Folks will have to wait for their turn to hook up their machine. This is simply to protect Nexus from blowing breakers like last time when we had too many machine overloading their circuits. This is bad for Nexus and potentially bad for your computers. Your understanding and patience in this matter is appreciated. We are looking for volunteers to help out with the event. We may need any of the following: tables (small) chairs power bars extension cords LAN cables (cat5 RJ-45) hub or switch a running (Linux) system with a burner We would like to have a running system on-hand for anyone interested in going away with their own copy of Linux. This includes CLUGGIX/Knoppix. So we would also like to have either blank CD-R's or copies of whichever distro on hand. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated. The web site has been updated and the InstallFest page has further information as well. Nexus is also posting this on their website. Come out, it will be fun. And more importantly take the opportunity to purchase a book from Nexus, they are very kind to provide us the space in their store, it's the least we can do. They will most likely have copies of Red Hat, SuSE and Mandrake if you want to get your hands on the boxed set with Manuals. They even had some Linux games for sale last time (Hmm, Quake III). Nexus' address is: 311-17 Avenue S.W. Calgary, AB T2S 0A5 (403) 229-2520 Say hello and thanks to whomever is there from Nexus: Connie, Joe, Kevin, Stephen (sp?) or Jean they are super nice folks. There will most likely be coffee and or donuts or donut holes there. If you are so inclined you may bring more for people to enjoy. - -- Jarrod Major GPG Fingerprint: FA4A 1EA3 A0EE A842 07BB 804C 0090 14F6 BE6E DE3D Registered Linux User: #224211 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iQCVAwUBPtzi3gCQFPa+bt49AQJZTQP/fSEmsDzQiLTEtWDZXOk0rSYXg7fxa2ra /frsSz2FhZljmfRWfVjFgaCtkn4pDlS/3wEIl8lgxxTCVDd9KZCcrvJQWiQje0GY dWQzbjeDdHOU8XDZKpnWtS1Qzai5MBSxG6xuDK19cL0IVBOEw+zs/PaFL4yyEGch hsWQiMrIn84= =bJ1t -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
