Hey guys,

Does any of you guys employ an IMAP server that hosts large mail boxes?

For a project I'm involved with I'm thinking at setting up anonymous access to
its mailinglists using IMAP. The problem is that I'm noticing quite the poor
performance using large Maildir mailboxes. Large as in 40 (fourty) thousand
and more messages. It takes a while to load that mailbox into a client. Plain
old mbox files are much faster in this respect but I haven't found a
satisfactory IMAP server that deals with plain mbox files. The only one I
found is UW-IMAP but it's security record leaves to desire (had some bad
experiences with uw-ftpd). The two I've tried are Cyrus and Courier, Courier
is my best bet so far but I thought I'd poll you guys, see what other
experiences are out there.

Thanks,
