osnews has an interview with Ximian's Nat Friedman. They talk about such things as Ximian Desktop 2, Ximian Connector and Mono. XD2 looks really cool, and should do allot for Linux on the desktop, especially in corporate environments which is their core market. The only thing I have to complain about is that their "unified" GTK theme looks like crap. I would not even deploy it in a corporate environment. It looks like it could have been designed by a kid in about 6 minutes. Other than that it looks like they have put lots of work into making the desktop more unified and easier to use with easy access to network shares, printer configuration and font installation. It also looks like they have made some nice changes to OOo. http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=3705
