The product I use is Transgaming (wineX).
It allows you to run most games on your linux box ( I am currently working on getting a few games working with it).
The downside is that it is not free, you have to subscribe..

Check them out at www.transgaming.com

also if you buy Mandrake gaming edition you get a version of the Transgaming software.

Thanks

Hi All,

Am trying to research and plan my eventual entertainment/multimedia server. It will act as a game console, jukebox, pvr, video editor, image editor, etc.

I know there is an ever increasing array of software for most of the listed above, but one thing is eluding me at this point. I have a bunch of Windows games that I would like to load on the system and enjoy them. I would ideally like to use as Linux and other open source products to accomplish this. I thought about using WINE or something like Win4Lin to emulate Windows 2000 and then run the software from there, and then problem solved, but I just don't have enough information. I was also thinking that Lindows might work, but again, limited experience.

Any insight anyone can offer as far as solutions or software and perhaps some recommened hardware. Any donations? ;-)

Look forward to hearing from you!

Cameron
