It wouldn't matter.  The only access to the database is through FTP (which
I'm having problems with), or through the DSN.  

i.e. the folder layout is like so:

d:\web\mydomainname\http
d:\web\mydomainname\database

Only the http folder is accessible by the webserver.  They've done this to
provide some security for the database files.

I guess I'll have to post a support question to them, and see what comes of
it.
