This is from Jason Uppenborn, one of CLUG's Tier 2 members who happens to be
a good friend of mine, regarding an earlier post about CD labelling and
artwork for CLUGGIX or Knoppix, etc.

Curtis.

P.S. On my own side note (in addition, see Jason's <ad></ad> tags below),
my position as Senior Technical Support Analyst of 5 years was recently cut
due to downsizing. If anyone has any contract work or knows of any similar
or appropriate positions, by all means let me know. I can forward a copy of
my resume and/or take you out for lunch to discuss it. :-) Thanks, Curtis.

Hi,

Thanks for forwarding this to me, Curtis. Please forward my reply
(below) back. In case you didn't catch it, I added the sender of the
original message to the recipient list in the interest of providing him
with a quicker response.

I've used CD-Stomper Pro (from Costco) to create some CD labels for
copies of Cluggix that I distribute in personal, professional interest.
The instructions consist of the sentence "Place CD in CD-ROM drive and
restart your computer". The "personal, professional interest" part
comes in the form of my company name and contact info on the label.
Credit for producing the CD is given to Calgary Linux Users Group and
Knoppix.

Note that the instructions for installing, if the user can find them,
indicate that it is risky business at best. There is no "Click here to
install" button on the desktop. Also noteworthy is that the
instructions indicate that Knoppix / Cluggix doesn't play nice with
NTFS in read/write mode -- better keep it in read-only.

I can be reached at 6 1 5 . 5 9 2 3 if you would like one of my copies.
I will be in Calgary at least on Monday and Wednesday if you would like
a copy. Call early to be sure I save you one!

<ad>On a side note, I'm looking for a contract doing software
development or possibly being a technical team lead. If you would like
to view a copy of my resume, head to http://uppenbornconsulting.com.
While all leads are welcome, I'll give you a CD over lunch, at my
expense of course, if you provide a lead that turns into a
contract.</ad>

Hope that helps.
