Looking for a cross-platfrom FLOSS genalogy software similar to what you would see in Family Tree Maker. I suppose something that would read Family Tree Maker files would work as well if I did some of the work on windows. Ideally looking for something that will run on wndows linux and Mac OS.

A good one that I used a looong time ago is GeneWeb <http://cristal.inria.fr/%7Eddr/GeneWeb/>. Started and maintained Daniel du Rauglaudre, GeneWeb is a very feature-rich application that's free and uses a web interface. It uses OCAML, though, so if you don't normally use it, you'll have to install that piece of software. It's also not the easiest piece-of-software to install, but it boasts relationship and consanguinity computing, polyglot and importing/exporting to GEDCOM files. If you want complete but steep install-curve, try it out.
