I didn't want to change our monthly meeting at all. but adding more independent happenning.
I know about the IRC channel, and the mailling list is very usefull. but what about the human contact we got last installfest ? > The last thing you want, is to over-stress the membership with too frequent > / irregular meeting, the dropout rate will be very high, people will not be > able to follow the changes, and most importatly, they will not be able to > plan arount it. well, do you think the rate would start so quickly ? I think the first few month would be desert. and then, more people would come visit us. again. i dont expect any change to the monthly meeting. just addind more meeting possibility to whom that desire it. I know a local is expensive and hard to finance. but would be damn fun. i think. It would help developer community who want to meet in a different way than IRC. > > Imagine a GameWorkshop (D&D, Warhammer, etc.) but for Linux. > There has been talk of a CLUG LAN Party. To do it well it would take > lots of effort, but would be cool. I did not want to talk about game. was just an exemple where those guy you play card or platform game; meet in a public place to play and find new people. btw, any one of you heard about microsoft put Linux as the Risk#2 following the Economic Envirronnement.
