I gave a knoppix CD to a colleage for playing and giving him an easy way
into Linux. Worked fine on his desktop, so he tried it on his notebook.
Worked ok, loaded amazingly fast (PIII 1Ghz) but the resolution was wrong.
So we tried to change the resolution, without luck. I didn't know about
the boot parameters/cheat codes (kind of a silly name BTW) at the time.
Now when he boots knoppix it takes up to 10 mins to load and gives all
manner of errors such as can't find this hardware or that. I don't know
the specific errors but can find out.
So the question is, does knoppix store any config info on a local drive?
He can't see any other reason for the huge change in its behaviour.
know there is a lot of knoppix knowledge in the group so i hope someone
can help.
please cc keith.r at compsurp.com in any replies.
TIA
