just wondering if anyone knows where to get a cheap... sale... used Laptop harddrives...

For used, surplus or refrib you would be looking at 10, 15, 20 and maybe 30 gig drives.
40-80 gig drives are current products and very popular sizes, I highly doubt you will find to many used ones. Most laptops in fact are just starting to move from 30GB to 40GB drives as the base default.
As someone mentioned you be best to check out Ebay, I think you will find that the used/surplus ones aren't much cheaper than the new ones.
