I finally bought a Linksys WRT54G 802.11g router and a Linksys WMP55AG network interface card. The router's easilly configured and upgraded using Mozilla on Linux. I managed to compile the madwifi drivers for the Atheros-based NIC and it seems to load properly. My problem now is I can't seem to get the NIC to sync up with the AP. Through tinkering around I managed to get some result from an "iwlist ath0 scan" and "iwlist ath0 ap". The NIC even managed to get the SSID correctly once. But just once. Now I can't seem to get the two talking.
Are there any tips you can give to diagnose the problem? I'm not sure what logs I'm supposed to look at nor indicators to watch out for. Any hints/suggestions would be appreciated.
Specs: Atheros-based NIC madwifi-20030802 driver (uses Wireless Extensions) linux kernel 2.4.20 (x86 platform) wireless tools ver. 25 --
