I currently use ERWIN to generate database models, but ERWIN will not generate the scripts to create the database on a Postgresql server. I understand that I might be able to use the Informix9.x scripts on Postgres, but I'm looking for a tool that I can use on Linux. I've seen a few out there, but cannot afford to pay for the ones that look as though they'll work (this is for personal use at this point). I've seen reference to DIA, but that appears to be a plain diagramming tool - can it generate database scripts? I have found Umbrello to be good enough for my UML diagrams, but it doesn't do database diagrams.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a decent tool for this? Thus far it looks like my best bet is to generate an MS Access database, then convert it to Postgresql, but even that isn't 100%. (found a module that will generate pg script based on an Access db.) Thanks for any tips. Shawn
