They taste like crab to what I hear.  If you still have the fish you should try asking if pet stores will take it.  I read somewhere that pet stores will use them for breeding.  You might be able to trade in for a small one.

Plac's are algae eaters and do a good job of cleaning the tank for you.
Look like a sucker....sort of.

I don't want to set up another fresh water tank right now.....
