Hi All, I'm running an Acer 611TXCi notebook with Windows XP Pro.
I was installing a HP 2300c USB Scanner and during the installation process a reboot is required. On reboot the BIOS splash screen flashed up as usual but then a black screen with the following message came up "PlatinumPAS - PreBoot Authentication Services Verify Please insert a valid SmartCard" I've tried both the primary card and the emergency card with no success. I've replaced the hard drive with a known good drive with no success. While the system is still under warranty I'm hooped till I talk to Acer and they are not picking up the phones right now. Any suggestions? -- Cheers, Dave Watkins President "Ask me about your hardware, software and networking needs" Abacus Technologies 1025 Fonda Court S.E.
