Yes, I agree with all that, I was not trying to pressure anyone to make any presentatiions.

There should be available from VFX a few machines and monitors to set up various
distros on. I would appreciate it if anyone can bring a copy of the latest Mandrake,
RedHat, etc one evening after work 15th, 16th or 17th and do an install on 1 or 2 of
them?

Does anyone have access to an overhead projector for the presentation? ( if any )

Hey Shawn,

Nobody is forcing you to do a presentation. You have recently conquered the beast that is Gentoo (me waxes dramatic) so it would be appropriate however, given the time constraints I don't know how feasible it is. Mind you, Gerald would have his work cut out for him to do likewise with Linux from Scratch.

Honestly guys, after having done a presentation at an InstallFest, I can tell you it's rough but people seem to like it and get something out of it.

The notice in the Herald mentions nothing about either presentation. Graham and I decided information about the event sufficed. The CLUG website will be updated and give the rest of the details.

I suspect more people will be interested in poking around on a working system. I will warn whomever does bring a box to demonstrate a working version of Linux. Please create an unprivileged user that would not have access to your sensitive files. Personally I wouldn't bring a machine that has anything sensitive on it anyway but do protect yourselves but c'est la vie.

I am looking forward to this event.
