actually googling last night (30-40mins of searching after i sent that email).

i found one, very small link, to someone who did install the HLDS (halflife dedicated
server) to the mac...

my current problem, is that i can only download this stupid binary (no tar, or gz)
through IE on windows... then copy it to my mac server... from what I can tell that
process destroys part of the file.

i've tried doing both chmod a+x and chmod 755... then running with ./hlds.bin and sh
hlds.bin... everything fails.

so it can be installed... and people have... i'll post a url later on... but right
now, any ideas how i can safely download that binary on my pc? (or even my macintosh
powerbook, running os9/osX).

thanks,

sorry for all the confusion.

from what I've heard, you can get HL for the mac, if that turns out to be true, i'll
let everyone know.
