according to Waldo Bastian, KDE hacker and long time SUSE employee, they aren't changing their KDE focus even with this purchase. the story at SUSE is that there is demand for KDE and GNOME in the market place, so SUSE will not be expected to alter their course significantly. i would expect GNOME support in SUSE to improve, however, now that they have the Ximian folk on board. i'm still very nervous about Novell's track record. SUSE has been doing a great job with their marketing and partnership strategies; here's hoping that Novell allows SUSE to continue running that part of show as they have been, since Novell's record for the last 10 years or so in the marketing and partnership game has been _dismal_. - -- Aaron J.
