Hello,
Depends on how you asked it to mount. From a boot disk could easily make it not see it. How would it find fstab etc... First off, from the bootdisk just run fsck for each filesystem. Reboot, and use the bootdisk again and run fsck once more (sometimes some errors require fsck more then once), do that till running fsck against whichever partition has errors no longer gives errors. Remove bootdisk, boot. You're done. Relax and stretch.
