Hey Raf,
I used to sell these types of things at Staples. Found that the Brother were pretty
popular and had pretty low purchase to return ratio.
The FAX-2800 (or similar) is around the $300-$400 mark and is a laser fax & copier.
For a little extra or around same prices you could look at the MFC-4800 (or similar)
which gives you a laser printer, sheet-fed scanner & fax and copier. Both use a drum
(DR-250: $250'ish) & toner (TN-250: $40'ish)combo. The toner should give you about
200 pages at 5% coverage which equates to about 2-3 cents/page. The biggest exspense
would be a drum if you needed to replace it, but a drum should last you approximately
4-6 toners (10-15,000 pages). Both do about 10 pages/minute and give pretty clear
results. The company I work for bought a 2800 to replace the 2600 they had before and
it works fine.
