I particularly like the bit about SCO being like the Troll under the bridge wanting to charge a toll from everyone using Linux. Brilliant. I know that I feel very much like Pamela Jones, that as a user of Linux and Open Source/Free Software, that I would like to give back. That is probably one of my biggest reasons for being so actively involved in CLUG and its affairs. To see CLUG succeed is to ultimately serve me in the end by promoting the OS and the software I use. I had a thought while I was reading this article. I wonder if there are developers auditing any of the code looking for instances of any IP infringement. I would not be at all surprised if they are. It is a sad waste of resources if they are but it is also the kind of project I could see the Open Source community rallying behind to prove that there is nothing untoward in the code. My hat is off to them if they are. It is a matter of a preemptive strike and well beyond due diligence. And what a great name 'Groklaw'.
