Hi all,

What do you think about these files?
They were generated inside /var/log/samba/ directed by /etc/smb.conf. I think there's a couple of issues here:

ONE: is that syslog perhaps is not configure properly to rotate the logs and that's why the lonnnnnnng version file name. I think I can take care of that.

TWO: Based on the rights given to the files, it looks like some remote connection was open - weird "user" and "group" ownership's. These uid and guid don't exist within my configurations. The first file, as you can see, is a "pipe", and the second one is a "block" device file. They cannot be deleted, even as root - it sort of make sense. However, this is driving me nuts. I've researched for months how to get rid of them and nothing - unless I wipe it, which I might have to do anyway.

But first I thought I'd pass it by you fellows to see if you've ever seen anything like or simply to hear your comments about it.
