Ximian makes a good distribution of Gnome. It is easy to install and update thanks to RedCarpet. The drawbacks are that it is limited in the number of distributions it supports (usually older versions of RedHat and SuSE) and it takes awhile for them to update it to the latest version of Gnome (although they often release unstable packages through RC for testing). If your interested in Gnome you could also try the version that comes with your OS, Dropline Gnome for Slackware which is very easy to install and update and is quite slick, or Garnome which will download and compile the latest snapshot of Gnome (and optionally a bunch of other goodies), among others.
