This is not surprising, PHPNuke is poorly written and thus susceptible to bugs and exploits. A while ago a client asked me to create a site for him using the PHPNuke system. I refused. As a member of bugtraq mailing list (among others) I have seen countless exploits submitted for it, sometimes more than one a day!
