I have been administering CVS, which was run on Linux server.
There were more than 30 Java programmers in the company
working on Linux and Windows 2000/XP workstations.
All worked fine.
WinCVS is good enough FREE front-end for CVS.
For Linux users there are several CVS clients. First
one is just a simple command line cvs client - you need to
take a reference guide for the beginning and do it...
A bit complicated fort he beginner? OK then tkcvs is
one of available frontends. I used it on Mandrake - works
well enough. Cervisia is another client (it is a part of KDE project).
In case you need a CVS command reference guide, I have
a pdf file. Please contact me off the list and I'll send it
to you .

Regards
Ray

GForge! It would worthwile to take a look at this.

I have windows and linux programers and I would like to centralize this to a server. I've been mentioned the existance of wincvs wich would provided to windows programmers a win-gui utility. I just need to take a look at it something like it for linux. I've heard of gcvs. I need to take a look at this.

I'm also looking at this little project from the Systems Administrator point of view. Since I'm not a programmer, I have to prototype with my fellow programmers and find out what would be the best option.
