Just a word to the wise......

I've seen more than a few applications that won't run at all when using a
USB to Serial adapter when short a "real" serial port.

Just a quick thought, guys, but there are usb to serial adapters out 
there.  Would that be a viable alternative for you to convert your usb 
cradle to a serial cradle?  Probably a lot cheaper, too.
